Colleen O. Kaufenberg - Associate Attorney

Colleen O. Kaufenberg

Colleen O. Kaufenberg is no stranger to HDBOB. In 1985 as a law student, Colleen clerked for the firm. After practicing law for almost 20 years, she returned to HDBOB. She’s back because “the firm has always had a top-notch reputation for quality lawyers with strong integrity, passion, and advocacy skills.” Colleen’s practice at HDBOB is in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, civil litigation, workers’ compensation, and employment law.

Colleen is a graduate of Saint Mary’s University (Winona), where she graduated magna cum laude with a double major in political science and public administration. She was selected for the Harry S. Truman Scholarship and was President of Pi Sigma Alpha – National Honorary Political Science Society. Colleen also spent a semester at De La Salle College in Manchester, England. She is a graduate of Hamline University School of Law, where she was a Merit Scholarship Recipient and on Law Review. Colleen is licensed to practice in Minnesota and is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Ramsey County Bar Association, and the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association.

Colleen’s free time is limited by the schedules of her three active children – each attending a different school. Between football, baseball, basketball, dance, swimming, piano lessons and Girl Scouts, Colleen squeezes in a few rounds of golf, bikes, works out, and enjoys the Minnesota outdoors. On Saturday afternoons in the fall, Colleen can be found cheering on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Notre Dame football is in her blood; her uncle, Dan Devine, coached the Fighting Irish and the Green Bay Packers.

Colleen has been a strong advocate in her children’s education and in special education, serving on a private school board for seven years. She has also been active in neighborhood issues involving various city councils. She is a passionate, aggressive, and knowledgeable advocate for student, neighbors, and most importantly, clients.
