James A. Schaps - Partner

Jamie has focused on the defense of workers’ compensation and automobile liability cases for over 25 years. He regularly serves as a Mediator/Arbitrator in both liability and workers’ compensation matters and has done so for over 15 years.

Jamie is a proponent of HDBOB’s open and friendly environment. He says, “Some firms can get hung up on their image as lawyers but that’s not the case at HDBOB. There has never been a client or a lawyer who has ever made the comment that they were ‘uncomfortable’ in our office. While we deal with many serious issues affecting people’s lives, we don’t ever forget that the clients are the most important part of our job.”

Jamie’s skill and candor have earned him the respect of his peers, who have repeatedly honored him with “Super Lawyer” status. He received his B.A. from the University of St. Thomas and J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law. He is admitted to practice in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and U.S. District Court-District of Minnesota. In addition to his litigation practice, he frequently serves as a speaker in many CLE programs in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.
