Joseph G. Twomey - Partner

Joe’s practice areas include workers’ compensation, civil litigation, insurance defense and personal injury. He received his B.A. from St. John's University and his J.D. from Hamline University School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Hamline Law Review (1995-96). He is admitted to practice in Minnesota and the U.S. District Court-District of Minnesota.

Prior to joining HDBOB in 1998, Joe clerked for a Ramsey County District Court judge. When Joe joined the firm, he found that associates were encouraged to appear in court instead of spending years drafting motions for other lawyers. “Many firms make you wait to go to court, but HDBOB has a great mentoring program. Their training sets them apart.” Joe’s courtroom skills were recognized and rewarded by peers when he was voted a Minnesota Law & Politics “Rising Star.” Joe is a member of the Ramsey County and Minnesota State Bar Associations as well as the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association.

Joe has served on the Ramsey County Bench and Bar planning committee for its annual benefit to raise money to provide legal services for lower income individuals in the Twin Cities. This type of community involvement is indicative of Joe’s commitment to the well being of others.

On the home front, Joe is committed to learning the ropes of fatherhood. He and his wife are the parents of two young daughters. In his spare time, Joe enjoys running, traveling, and reading.
