William M. Bradt - Partner

Partner William M. Bradt, the second “B” in HDBOB, joined his older brother Gene in the firm in 1973. Bill focuses his practice on personal injury, products liability, medical negligence, construction litigation, third party liability and alternative dispute resolution. Bill is proud of HDBOB’s mentoring of younger lawyers, its open door policy for associates, and the opportunity it gives young lawyers to get into court early––a rarity in most law firms. His ultimate satisfaction comes from trying cases, representing his clients, and getting good results for them.

He received his B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota and J.D. cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law. He is admitted to practice in Minnesota and the U.S. District Court-District of Minnesota. He is a member of the Ramsey County and Minnesota State Bar Associations, and is an Advocate in the American Board of Trial Advocates. Prior to joining HDBOB, he was Deputy Securities Commissioner for the State of Minnesota. He’s also a frequent writer, lecturer and educator in the legal field.

Bill’s expertise in building strong foundations such as the one he helped develop at HDBOB also comes in handy when enjoying one of his favorite hobbies. He is an avid woodworker and has constructed dozens of pieces of furniture, including tables, shelves, dressers, plant stands and armoires. His handiwork frequently turns up under the Christmas tree as gifts for his friends and relatives. He has also done the lion’s share of the work in remodeling his family’s lake getaway, which he visits regularly with his wife, three children and five grandchildren.
